We focused on offering practical and interesting information for anyone planning a trip to the Costa del Sol. Offering suggestions and tips based on our experiences of places, museums, restaurants and more.

Our hope is to transmit our love for the Costa del Sol, sharing everything we enjoy about the  area and thus making it easier to find what each has to offer. From what attractions to see, what museums to visit, and places to stay at to the local dishes and wine you need to taste and savor while here to the well-being you’ll experience simply by being in one of the most spectacular landscapes in the world.

A Benalmádena resident who travelled to the European Patchworking Championships in Birmingham earlier this month has returned victorious. Oskana Mader’s entry, ‘Kaleidoscope of my Life and Love’, won the My First Quilt category, and the piece will be displayed at London’s Alexandra Palace until the end of the year. Mader met with local councillor Elena Galán upon her return, and said that it was a “great honour” to represent Benalmádena in the contest.

One of the Costa del Sol Sí Puede party’s two councillors in Mijas, Toñi Santana, last week announced she is giving up her council seat, citing “personal reasons” as the sole motivation for her decision. The Podemos-linked party’s lead councillor, Curro Ávila, has not yet announced who will be Sra Santana’s replacement.

Torremolinos has seen a strong boost in new businesses during the last year, based to municipal figures. Between June 2015 and July 2016, 595 opening licence applications were submitted, up 38.6% compared to the period from June 2014 to July 2015. In the newly pedestrianised area of the town centre, the figure has jumped by 55.5% since the road was closed to traffic in December 2015.

Five people including two minors were injured in a collision between two cars on the N-343 in Antequera on Friday. The children aged four, eight and nine years were taken to hospital suffering from shock, while two adults were reported to be in a serious condition in intensive care. One woman was trapped in the wreckage and had to be freed by the emergency services.

A three-year-old child was taken to hospital in Marbella on Tuesday after suffering a bad bump on the head at the Cabopino campground. The parents, a Madrid couple, called for help and when local police arrived the child was in convulsions and at one point went into cardiac arrest. Instead of waiting for the ambulance, the officers rushed him to hospital. The exact cause of the injury is not yet clear.
